Introduction

     Hi! I'm Jane and I am from Boston, Massachusetts. I love living in a city, but I also love the warm weather, so that is why I came here to Tampa. Living in Boston has taught me how to be more independent. I learned at a young age how to take the train by myself in order to get where I need to go. I even took the train to school everyday for six years. I did cheerleading in high school so I enjoy doing flips which is a fun fact about myself. I am a freshman and I enjoy walking, going to the beach, meeting new people, and painting. I have a sister that graduated from UTampa in the spring and we are very close with each other. An accomplishment for me is traveling 1,300 miles from home to go to school here by myself, because it is very outside my comfort zone, but I have enjoyed my time here so far. I absolutely love the beach, shopping, and trying new foods as well. My favorite food is sushi, my favorite color is bright pink, and my favorite genre of music is country.


    My initial thought of this class is that it seemed engaging. I enjoy the art aspect of this class because it's something I'm interested in. I expect from this class to learn how to navigate technology a little better and how to create digital art. It differs a lot from just standard high school classes so I am curious to see what this class is about.  I want to get better at using technology to learn more about my major (Advertising and PR) because I am not very good at using technology. I think this class will be a great way to expand my horizons. I would view myself as creative just because I enjoy fun art projects so I hope that this class contains some projects like those.

Ai HW 1

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NBKRywEbNs     I think it will be easy to navigate the panels and tools. However I am not very good at using the anchors, handles, and paths, so that is going to be harder for me to figure out. I do think manipulating the anchor will be easy though because you are just stretching out the shape. I also think it will be difficult to use the color panels and change colors, gradients, and outlines. After figuring out the shapes to use I think it will be easy to align it with other shapes. You could use these tools for a lot of different things such as creating posters, flyers, or social media posts. Something interesting about the video / tools he's using is that there are so many different tools for different functions.   This is my post card I chose a pink background because it is my favorite color. I chose my self portrait because I thought that it would fit best with the post card. I like the set up of my card and the logo. I tried to be creative with my logo part. I like how my name in the logo matches the border color.

Ps HW 2

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFN4Hho4RNM      In this video he goes over the tools on the side bar of Adobe photoshop. I think the crop tool will be easy to use because it's just moving the image. I also think the pixel and image layers will be easy to use since we were working with them a little bit for class. I also think that the brush tool will be easy because it doesn't require a lot of work and it is pretty straight forward. I feel like this video would mostly come into use when you use a poster or minor editing.
